Apples

We have all heard the saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away".... but why?

Now to study the next ingredient in Jus, lets take a look at a bit more information about the apple.

Some Apple Facts:
-There are more than 7500 different kinds of apples found in the world.
-China actually produces more apples than any other country!
-Half of the USA's apple crop is turned into applesauce, apple juice, or another apple product.

The history of apples goes as far back as 6500 B.C. In medievel times, physicians were taught that cooked apples could relieve disturbances of the bowels, lungs, and nervous systems. The custom of serving fresh fruit, particularly apples, at the end of each meal was common because of the favorable effects on the digestive system. Apple juice was one of the earliest prescribed anti-depressants.

Apples are indisputably healthy for us. It is not because they are bursting with any one specific vitamin or mineral like many other fruits/vegetables are, though they are high in Vitamin C, fiber, and potassium. Without a question apples are a great help with controlling blood sugar and reducing cholesterol.

Apples with the peels still on are the most healthy way to eat an apple, because much of the nutrition is found in the skin. On THIS site there are 10 health benefits of
